BOSSIER-SHREVEPORT BATTLEWINGS TO HOST TAILGATE PARTY FOR KID’S CORNER PARTICIPANTS AT PETROSUN INDEPENDENCE BOWL

Shreveport, La. – The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings will host the inaugural “Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings Kid’s Corner Tailgate Party” prior to kickoff of the 2007 PetroSun Independence Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 30.

The party will be held at the Livestock Barn on the state fairgounds from 4-6 p.m. The 2007 PetroSun Independence Bowl will kickoff at 7 p.m. from Independence Stadium. All attendees of the “Kid’s Corner Youth Ticket Donation Program” are invited to this special pregame party. The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings will provide and cook hamburgers and hot dogs for the participants and BattleWings players, cheerleaders, and the Fly Girls will provide entertainment.

“ We’re honored and excited to be a part of such a great event,” said BattleWings’ owner Dan Newman. “Our entire organization is really looking forward to seeing all the kids, having them meet some of our players and enjoy a great game.”

All Kid’s Corner t-shirts, game tickets, and meal vouchers will be delivered to each group several days before the event.
“ I am very excited about this event, because this program has enjoyed such success in only its second year and the Kid’s Corner participants deserve something like this that they can enjoy even before the game itself,” said Patrick Meehan, PetroSun Independence Bowl media relations director.

The “Kid’s Corner Youth Ticket Donation Program” pairs area businesses and individuals with various non-profit youth organizations and allows them to purchase tickets to the PetroSun Independence Bowl and then donate them to the organization of their choice.

The 2007 PetroSun Independence Bowl will be played in primetime on Sunday, Dec. 30 as the game kicks off at 7 p.m. on ESPN from Independence Stadium. The PetroSun Independence Bowl is the only bowl game that day.

Tickets and corporate sponsorships are still available for the 2007 PetroSun Independence Bowl as well as the Minuteman Luncheon and FCA Breakfast, and can be obtained through a variety of methods. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Bowl office located at 401 Market Street, Suite 120 on the main floor of the American Tower in downtown Shreveport.
